the 2002 Gavin Seminar in San Francisco, I interviewed the

Quincy
Jones, whose career truly ranged from bebop to hip-hop,

Powers. Afterwards, he seemed pleased.

Famed
for his star turn in the Coen Brothers' 'Fargo,' William
H. Macy was honored at the Mill Valley Film Festival in
2001 with film clips and an on-stage interview. "Just be
on time and learn your lines," he advised.

Gary
Owens, the famed radio and TV announcer, was my favorite
DJ when I was a kid listening to KEWB in Oakland, Calif.
Now, we're close friends. Gary's still on the radio, and
when he calls, I still listen to him.
